Hike Compilation

Recap Post II

Whenever I was bored in Akureyri, I would go on walks. I do not like carrying my DSLR around because it is so chunky, and because I look like a tourist. I did take it on two hike/walks towards the end of my stay.

Most of my group just hung out at the hostel all day watching movies while I ventured out into the snow. Both times, I saw breath taking views and encountered some horses. I want to group my horse pictures together so the next post will have all of them :)

The first half of the images are from me just walking out of town in search of some wilderness. I could only get so far though because of the snow. I still enjoyed myself though and had lots of quiet.

My last full day in Akureyri I took a random bus out of the city center and then walked up towards the mountains. I had the opportunity to go skiing the night before so I knew there was an incredible view of the fjord if I went high enough. (Also, skiing was one of the coolest experiences ever because you could see the ocean from the ski resort-- on top of it being awesome because it's skiing in Iceland!). So the second half of the images come from this venture back near the place I skied.

 Pastel reflection of the mountains
The church and the sun painted mountains

I already miss this landscape, and it has only been two weeks. Can't complain though because Seattle honestly is gorgeous as well.
