Kein Katja.

A few days have passed and no real dramatic events have happened. Communication is difficult with the group because most of us don't have phones. Practically the dark ages up in this joint. This is why we were "Kein Katja." Miscommunication caused our friend to be left behind:/

Anyways, I go to German class in the morning for three hours, explore a little in the afternoon, then have quiet evenings. Next week we will begin Viennese Culture classes in the afternoon. I am hoping this will spice up my day a little.

My German is improving quite fast. However, it is still scary to use it with the locals. My 'murica accent is just too strong I guess (;

Here are some photos I have taken/been in thus far... I have not taken out my nice camera yet so excuse the quality (:

Hike up to Kahlenberg on our first actually day--still winter here.

Before the snow was actually part of the path...
Also, I think I look like my guy Leo.

View from the top. We plan to come back in a month or two when it is green and beautiful... not that the snow isn't nice.

Innerstadt. Very busy and very commercialized.

My name apparently?

Group dinner after the hike.

The food wasn't my favorite, but the company was good.

View from my room on the day it snowed. I am near a park, but in a super sketchy neighborhood. Apparently I live in the red light districts. Fancy...

My classroom looks out to Karl's Kirche. The architecture everywhere is beautiful. Even simple buildings are quite ornate.

Naschmarkt. Basically the Viennese equivalent to Pike Place. Most of the food in Vienna is pricey, but you can find good deals here that is fast and the vendors are friendly.
